Ammeh: We Will Take our Chances against Rivers United
Published: March 10, 2016
Niger Tornadoes attacking winger, Angel Wilfried Ammeh, has confirmed his side’s resolve to utilize their scoring opportunities when they take on Rivers United on Sunday.
Ammeh said the Week 6 NPFL encounter would be used to rediscover Tornadoes’ misfiring attitude in front of goal.
A fourth minute goal from Achibe Ewenije gave Wolves a nerve wrecking victory over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday.
The former Kogi United player expressed disappointment over their 0-1 loss to Warri Wolves in the Week 5 match in Warri , adding that their fans will begin to see new improvement from the club’s performance.
“It’s very unfortunate we lost to Wolves last week, I must confess they (Warri Wolves) are the weakest team we’ve played so far this season, but we lost because we failed to take our chances, we’ve put that aside and look ahead to the next game,” begins Ammeh.
“We are going to make amend in our subsequent games starting from this weekend against Rivers United, we wouldn’t allow them to flow in Lokoja,” he said.
Looking ahead to the expectation from the ongoing league season, Ammeh maintained that his target was to help the “Ikon Allah Boys” achieve good results in the league and make himself proud.
“I really don’t have a special target, I just want to enjoy myself, train well and get more playing times and assist Tornadoes to do well in the league and God willing get a call back to National team, and of course look outside to get a better club in Europe. But for now it’s Tornadoes to do well in the league,” Ammeh concluded.
The Minna-based club returned to top flight last season after seven years absent and have since been using Confluence Stadium, Lokoja as their adopted home ground as a result of renovation currently going on in Bako Kotangora Stadium in Minna.
