Newman Happy Scoring Against Former Team
Published: March 04, 2016
Former Sunshine Stars striker, Newman Musa has said that he’s excited scoring against Samson Unuanel’s men.
Musa registered his second goal of the season against the Akure Gunners in an emphatic fashion on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium in match day 4 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The former Nembe City attacker disclosed after the exciting encounter how happy he was getting the first goal of the game against his former employers.
“I’m happy with my second goal of the season, I have been praying, I even fasted for this game because I have been expecting this to come and I give glory to God that I scored against my former team.
“I’m very very happy that my dream came to pass. I played for Sunshine last season in the first round, I was part of the team and playing regularly but everything changed in the second round.
“So I had to leave and come back home to my club because I once played for MFM in the lower division, I have been working very hard, playing former team, Sunshine Stars I had to give it my best shot and I’m happy my effort paid off because without the goal it would have amounted to nothing. I give glory to God for giving me the goal,” Newman enthused.
Since rejoining the Olukoya Boys at the beginning of the season, Newman has become an integral part of Coach Fidelis Ilechuckwu squad.
He has made four appearances so far for the Lagos-based team.
