Enyimba Goalie Femi Thomas Admits Tunisia Game Will Be Difficult
Published: January 21, 2016Enyimba netminder Femi Thomas has admitted that the African Nations Championship clash against Tunisia on Friday afternoon will not be a stroll in the park even though the Super Eagles are early favourites to win the tournament.
The Super Eagles easily saw off Niger Republic in their first game in Rwanda but tomorrow’s tie will be against one of North Africa’s finest.
“Are the Tunisians our threat or we are theirs? All I know is that the game is going to be tough, that is why we prepared so hard to face rough and tough games, ” Femi Thomas told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Both teams will play their hearts out tomorrow but we are believing in God to come out victorious.
“The coach has told us to approach the game like every other game, to play simple and we should know that we are Nigerians so we have to play like Nigeria.”
Femi Thomas is behind Ikechukwu Ezenwa in Sunday Oliseh’s pecking order of goalkeepers in Rwanda but there’s no bad blood between the two and he has showered him with praise for his performance against Niger Republic.
“Kudos to Ikechukwu in our last game, I think he did well. Like I always say there are lots of room for improvement for all of us.
“We’re all here to play for our nation but if anyone is playing we should support him, ” Femi Thomas concluded.
The encounter between the Super Eagles and Tunisia is scheduled to start at 1400 hours Nigerian time on Friday.
