Austin Oboroakpo Not Bothered About Ahmed Akaichi Threat
Published: January 21, 2016Abia Warriors skipper Austin Oboroakpo has been previewing the upcoming meeting between the Super Eagles and Tunisia at the African Nations Championship.
The central defender is poised to make his maiden appearance in the competition having missed Monday evening’s clash with Niger Republic due to accumulation of cards in the qualifiers.
“The mood right now in camp ahead of the game is high. The performance against Niger was good and the whole team really impressed me, ” Oboroakpo said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I can’t predict the scoreline, I am just asking God for victory.”
Should Oboroakpo step out onto the Stade Régional Nyamirambo pitch on Friday afternoon, one of the assignments he must do without blemish is to stop the prolific Etoile du Sahel striker Ahmed Akaïchi from extending his scoring run in Rwanda.
“It’s good for him he has scored two goals but we don’t have plans to man - mark him.
“I think they should be the ones to worry about us. We are not bothered about Akaichi because their team is not a one - man team, ” the Super Eagles number 5 concluded.
The Super Eagles will qualify for the quarterfinals of the African Nations Championship with one game to spare if they secure maximum points from the game against the North Africans.
