Super Eagles Fired Up Ahead Showdown With Niger Republic
Published: January 18, 2016The Super Eagles are in tip - top condition ahead of their eagerly anticipated African Nations Championship clash with neighbors Niger Republic at the Stade Régional Nyamirambo, Kigali on Monday, starting from 1700 hours.
All the players in camp are available for selection except Abia Warriors stopper Austin Oboroakpo , who is suspended for this one after picking up two yellow cards during the qualifiers against Burkina Faso.
For over a month, the home - based national team have been preparing for this day, first training in Abuja before heading to Pretoria in South Africa to get used to the altitude in Rwanda.
“The boys are fired up, Coach Sunday Oilseh has told everyone that the Eagles have an agenda here and that is to take it one game at a time.
“Right now, all our focus is on the game against Niger in a few hours.
“After that game we look at the next one until we keep going on game after game and there’s no game to play which means playing the final and winning the Cup and becoming champions of Africa at this level, ” Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, said on behalf of Oliseh.
Sports Minister, Barr. Solomon Dalung, NFF President Amaju Pinnick, Vice Presidents Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, and Chairman of the Technical and Development Committee Chris Green will be among the spectators when Nigeria face off with Niger.
