Percentage Of Victor Osimhen Economic Rights Owned By A Third Party Gafar; Can NOT Sign For European Club
Published: December 25, 2015Victor Osimhen showed he is one player to watch in the future with a string of fine displays for the Golden Eaglets at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup but his proposed move to Europe might not materialize as a percentage of his economic rights is owned by a third party, Liameed Gafar, which is prohibited by Fifa.
Per Fifa Circular number 1464, which came into effect January 1, 2015 : “No club or player shall enter into an agreement with a third party whereby a third party is being entitled to participate, either in full or in part, in compensation payable in relation to the future transfer of a player from one club to another, or is being assigned any rights in relation to a future transfer.”
Liameed Gafar, has confirmed the exclusive report by allnigeriasoccer.com that he acquired ten percent of the economic rights of Victor Osimhen from Ultimate Strikers, Lagos for six million Naira in an interview with online media.
“I advised them like I have always been doing, they said they needed money and I have always been rendering financial assistant, ” Gafar told Sahara Reporters.
“When I realized it was becoming more frequent I told them why not let let me invest in the boy because I realized they needed money?
“They requested N10m for 10 percent anytime the boy signs a contract, and I told them I don’t have N10m, I only have N6m. Not because I invested N6m, but because I wanted the progress of the boy.
“I told them I don’t want anybody to know I invested N6m, if you let people know I won’t like it, and we all agreed.”
Liameed Gafar was a member of the entourage that traveled to Germany to negotiate a deal with Wolfsburg but the Bundesliga club has pulled the plug on the deal for now due to the absence of the player’s father, Patrick Osimhen.
