Agent Hints Eddy Onazi May Depart Lazio Due To Lack Of Game Time
Published: December 23, 2015Retired Nigeria international Ayo Makinwa, who is now an intermediary, has warned Lazio that his client Eddy Onazi may seek pastures new as from the January transfer window due to his lack of first team opportunities at the Serie A club.
The central midfielder has appeared only five times in the Italian top - flight in the ongoing season and was an unused substitute in the Biancocelesti’s last two matched against Sampdoria and Inter Milan despite his return to full fitness.
“Eddy is fine now, he had a minor injury. He suffered a muscle strain in the national team, was out ten days. He returned immediately after the match against Saint Etienne, ” Makinwa told LaLazioSiamoNoi.it.
“We need to talk with the club, we want clarification. There are clubs who want him, we’re talking about a guy who has already racked up 39 appearances for Nigeria, who in 2014 played as a starter at the World Cup in in Brazil.”
The former Lazio striker added : “ He is wanted both in Italy and abroad. For him it would not be a problem finding another team. If the situation were to continue to be this, then we must find a solution.
“The possibility of a sale could also materialize. When a player does not feel important or does not feel the trust, it is easier than not unable to play and give what you would like.”
Eddy Onazi, who is under contract with Lazio until the summer of 2018, attracted interest from the English Premier League after the 2014 World Cup but a transfer never materialized.
