Dili Onyedinma Commends Oba Aromolaran Over Girls Tourney
Published: December 05, 2015Chief Mrs Dili Onyedinma has commended the paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran for including female category to his annual Under-17 National Football Competition slated for Federal Technical College Ilesa, Osun State between 13th to 20th December.
Onyedinma, who made this known in letter sent to the organizer of the event, A Square Sport International which Osun State Football Association was copied, enjoined all other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the good gesture of the respected monarch towards Women’s football development.
“Part of the agenda of our board is to encourage people to organize a lot of competitions for women’s football teams; this is because competition is key to sustainability of success while men should also show interest in women’s football in order to help the women achieve success”, said the NWLB boss.
Meanwhile, the financier of the tourney, Oba Aromolaran has pledged to extend all the privileges enjoyed by boys to the girls that will be taking part in this year’s edition according to the tournament coordinator, Akin Akinkunmi.
The winner of the last year’s tourney held inside Osun State College of Education Ilesa where about 25 States participated got three hundred thousand naira while the first and second runners-up got two and hundred thousand naira respectively apart from other individual prizes awarded to players that distinguished themselves during the competition.
