Exclusive : Eddy Onazi Cuts Ties With Stellar Group Over Failed Move To England
Published: December 03, 2015Alllnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria international Eddy Onazi has fallen out United Kingdom - based intermediary Jonathan Barnett, the owner of Stellar Group, as a result of unfulfilled promises.
The Lazio midfielder had signed a representation contract with Barnet two months before the start of the 2014 Fifa World Cup, with the Briton mandated to use his connections in England to get him a club in the English Premier League.
Onazi’s proposed move to England never materialized and he had to cut ties with Jonathan Barnett even before the expiration of his mandate.
Barnett may be a household name across the football world but remains a controversial figure, as there are question marks surrounding his integrity.
It can be revealed that he illegally approached Kelechi Iheanacho to sign an agency deal with Stellar Group despite the Manchester City striker having an existing agreement with American Henry Galeano and the matter is now before the court.
He also signed Golden Eaglets stars Kelechi Nwakali and David Enogela without the permission of their intermediaries, a clear breach of Fifa’s Player’s Agents Regulations.
