Lukman Haruna Will Not Travel To Turkey With Anzhi Makhachkala
Published: November 27, 2015Nigeria international Lukman Haruna and his Anzhi Makhachkala teammates will no longer travel to Turkey for a training camp this winter, the club have revealed via a press release.
There has been tension between Russia and Turkey since November 24 after a Russian Sukhoi Su-24M bomber aircraft was shot down by Turkish Air Force F-16 fighter jets near the Syrian boarder.
The Russian Federation has advised all Premier League clubs to cancel their winter training camps in Turkey as a result of the tense political climate.
It is envisaged that Haruna and his teammates will hold a get - together in Spain ahead of the resumption of the second stanza of the league in March 2016.
The Super Eagles midfielder has played 12 matches for Anzhi since joining on loan from Dynamo Kiev in July.
