Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Osimhen & Moses Simon Among Top 101 Youngsters In World Football
Published: November 20, 2015If there was any question mark regarding the wonderkid tag placed on Kelechi Iheanacho and Victor Osimhen, that has been erased after the two Nigeria youth internationals were included in Don Balon’s Top 101 youngsters in world football for 2015.
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon also made the prestigious list alongside three players of Nigerian descent in the shape of Dominic Solanke, Jordon Ibe and Dele Alli.
The Editors said about Kelechi Iheanacho : “Now firmly established as Manchester City’s third choice striker, Iheanacho is a regular on Manuel Pellegrini’s bench and is putting pressure on Wilfried Bony. Fine displays on two occasions this season against Crystal Palace have raised expectations for the young Nigerian striker.”
On Victor Osimhen, they said : “Osimhen absolutely destroyed the recent Under-17 World Cup, scoring 10 goals as Nigeria won the tournament. Linked with Liverpool and Spurs, Osimhen was selling things on the street as a child so if he can make it to a big club, it will be a true rags to riches story.”
On Moses Simon : “Moses “Daddy” Simon has been described as the “Nigerian Ronaldo” and has been linked with both Spurs and Liverpool. Struggling for goals this season, Simon is blessed with plenty of pace but there are concerns about his recent form.”
Respected names such as Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich) , Anthony Martial (Man United) , Raheem Sterling (Man City) Alen Halilović (Barcelona), Martin ødegaard (Real Madrid) made the list.
To qualify for inclusion, the player must be born on or after January 1, 1994.
