Ahmed Musa Blames Pitch, Poor Lighting For Draw
Published: November 14, 2015Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has blamed the football pitch and the poor lighting system at the Somhlolo National Stadium for the national team’s unispired performance against Swaziland on Friday night.
Indeed, the 2013 African champions looked out of sorts against the minnows and could have conceded on the away turf if not for the heroic performance of Wolves netminder Carl Ikeme.
“We came here looking for a win and I am not happy because we got a draw,” Ahmed Musa said.
“Swaziland will have to prepare for a big challenge in Nigeria because it will be a tough game for them.
“Our supporters know how important this game is and they will be rallying behind us.”
The Super Eagles left for Port Harcourt immediately after the match, ahead of Tuesday’s return fixture.
