Amuneke Gives Credit To Golden Eaglets For Soaking Up The Pressure
Published: November 02, 2015Nigeria U17s coach Emmanuel Amuneke has shared his thoughts an impressions on his team’s 3 - 0 rout of Brazil in the quarter - final of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
The former Barcelona winger has praised his wards for playing conservatively in the opening 30 minutes, soaking up the pressure from the South Americans and taking their chances.
“Is not like we scored three goals and that was it. Before that our side had 15 very good minutes, when they moved the ball around as we knew they could,” said Amuneke to fifa.com.
“You have to give credit to my kids, who were tranquil and kept their cool to deal with the Brazil pressure and then scored at the right time.
“For them, to beat Brazil is a big confidence boost. We still have a long way to the title, though.”
