Australia Coach Will Not Change Tactics Against Golden Eaglets
Published: October 28, 2015Australia Under 17s coach, Tony Vidmar, reckons that The Joeys can progress to the last eight of the Fifa U17 World Cup at the expense of Nigeria when both team clash at the Estadio SausalitoVina Del Mar.
The former Rangers defender has said that he will approach the game against the reigning champions like he did in the group stage that saw his team beat Argentina and draw with Mexico.
“If we go in with the same intent, the same desire, the same momentum that we have in the previous three games, we can control the game,” Vidmar said to footballaustralia.com.au.
“We can dictate the terms – we want to put the opposition on the back foot.
“If we go in with that, with the quality we have on the park, we can give ourselves a realistic chance of progressing.”
The Golden Eaglets have never lost or even drawn with Australia at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup in five previous meetings.
