2013 World Cup Winner Aliyu Abubakar Reserves Special Praise For Golden Eaglets Number 5 Lukman Zakari
Published: October 23, 2015Mutunchi Academy defender Aliyu Abubakar, 19, has revealed that he’s impressed by the performance of all the players in the Golden Eaglets class of 2015 but has reserved special praise for Lukman Halilu Zakari.
The Unity Academy starlet has gone the distance in the Nigeria U17s first two matches in Chile and helped Akpan keep a cleansheet against USA while the Chileans could not breach the defense until the 81st minute.
“All of them are doing well and playing to instructions. They are doing a great job and playing collectively so I won’t really give credit to anybody, ” Aliyu Abubakar said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“If their defense keeps doing what they have been doing, they will emerge victorious at the end of the tournament.
“The boy that has really impressed me is the number five, Zakari. The boy is good in the air, has good technical skills and is strong. ”
Aliyu Abubakar is back in Nigeria after spending the second half of last season on loan at Israeli team MS Ashdod.
