Three Musketeers Nwakali, Bamgboye & Osimhen Shine In Golden Eaglets Win Vs Argentina
Published: October 08, 2015The Emmanuel Amuneke - led Golden Eaglets continued their preparations for the Fifa Under 17 World Cup with a test game against a strong Argentina youth team on Wednesday night.
The game which was divided into two halves of 40 minutes ended 2 - 1 in favour of the defending world champions, with Conechny scoring the only goal for the South Americans after a defensive error.
Emmanuel Amuneke handed starts to skipper Kelechi Nwakali, Victor Osimhen and Funso Bamgboye, and the trio, who are regarded as the main stars in the Golden Eaglets setup, were involved in both goals scored by Nigeria.
On 21 minutes, Bamgboye broke free from the right flank and flicked the ball to Osimhen who exchanged one-on-one pass with Chinedu Madueke; before striking into the far corner for the curtain raiser.
Five minutes out of intermission, Funsho Bamgboye gave Nigeria a two - goal cushion, firing home from the edge of the Argentina U17s box after a corner kick by Kelechi Nwakali.
The Golden Eaglets will head to Chile next week ahead of their first game at the Fifa Under 17s against USA.
