Celtic Teammate Refuses To Point Accusing Finger At Efe Ambrose
Published: October 02, 2015Former Scotland international Kris Commons has leapt to the defense of Celtic teammate Efe Ambrose after the central defender was blamed for the two goals conceded by The Hoops in Thursday night’s Europa League fixture against Fenerbahce.
The Scottish champions were two goals up after 32 minutes but two mistakes by Ambrose gifted the Yellow Canaries the equalizer, with both goals netted by Brazilian forward Fernandão.
“Efe knows what happened. He’s bitterly disappointed but it won’t affect his confidence. He’s a confident boy,” Kris Commons said in his post match comments, according to The Sun.
“Efe’s mistake led to a goal but he played really well. He won his headers, he came out with the ball and he was good in possession.”
Efe Ambrose, who has been recalled to the national team after one year in the international wilderness, played his 34th game in Europe against the Istanbul club.
