Celtic Scout Confirms He Watched Leke James In Action
Published: October 01, 2015Celtic’s Scandinavian scout øyvind C. Johansen has confirmed that he was among the spectators at the Alfheim Stadion last weekend that watched the game between Aalesund and Tromso.
But the Gothenburg - based scout has refused to confirm or deny reports that he came to run the rule over Nigerian forward Leke James, who was making his 24th appearance of the 2015 season.
“My job as Celtic ’s Scandinavian representative means that I’ll have an overview of the best players in this region,” said øyvind C. Johansen to Norwegian newspaper Sunnmørsposten.
“I am convinced that there are more players in the Premier League that are clearly at a higher level.”
In the summer, Aalesund were willing to sell Leke James to Chinese club Guangzhou R & F for a transfer fee of3 million euros.
