Jordon Ibe Insists Nobody Influenced His Decision To Pick England Ahead Of Nigeria
Published: September 16, 2015Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe has confirmed that he has pledged his international future to England despite being approached by the coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, to represent Nigeria.
The Anglo - Nigerian has stressed that he was not forced or influenced by anybody before he made his choice to represent England at senior level.
“It was my choice and it feels the right choice for me,” Jordon Ibe told liverpoolfc.com.
“I was born here and have played in the younger age groups. I want to take it up to the first team one day.”
Since debuting for the England Under 18s against Italy in October 12, Ibe has racked up 13 appearances for England’s youth teams.
The Bermondsey - born player has featured 5 times in the Premier League this season.
