Oliseh Confident Super Eagles Will Qualify For African Cup of Nations
Published: September 07, 2015Though things did not go as planned in his first game in the dugout, Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has refused to push the panic button and is confident that the national team can qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
The team struggled in Dar es Salaam last weekend and were forced to a goalless draw by the hosts, which leaves them two points behind Group G leaders Egypt in the race for qualification.
“We are building a new team, and patience is required. It is like starting from the scratch, because the fact is that we didn’t qualify for the last Africa Cup of Nations, ” Sunday Oliseh told reporters that attended Monday’s press conference.
“However, I have the confidence that this group will make Nigeria proud again.”
