NWPL: Confluence Queens Return To Winning Ways
Published: August 27, 2015Nigeria Women Premier League side, Confluence Queens FC of Lokoja on Wednesday bounced back to winning ways following a 1-0 victory over Ibom Angels Football Club of Uyo
A late first half minute goal from midfielder, Ameachi Ojini, was all the Wada Queens needed to sealed the three needed points as the NWPL gradually coming to an end.
Confluence Queens were the better side but the slim win was not a good reflection of the Wada Queens performance in the Nigeria Women Premier League encounter.
Speaking through the club Spokesperson Tosin Ojo, the chairman of the side Mallam Abdul Sule, rues his girls missed chance
“I am not really satisfied with our performance today, though the win is very important for us but, I think the players are affected by fatigue after runs of matches they have played.”
However, Abdul Sule remain confident his side will get better and finish in a good position.
“I think the team will bounce back, we are confident we will finish among the top three at the end of the season.”
Confluence Queens have gathered 17 points from eleven matches and will next take on Martin Whyte Dove in Lokoja.
