Sammy Ameobi Opens Cardiff City Account After 37 Minutes Of Game Time
Published: August 22, 2015Newcastle United loanee Sammy Ameobi scored his first league goal since joining Cardiff City at the beginning of the season as the Welsh club beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2- 0 on Saturday evening.
The ex England youth international found the back of the net on the hour mark, three minutes after he replaced Kenwyne Jones, meaning it took him only 37 minutes of game time over three matches to open his account.
Prior to today’s match, Sammy Ameobi’s last goal in a competitive game was against Hull City on match day 23 of the 2014 - 2015 season.
Super Eagles invitee Carl Ikeme, Dominic Iorfa and Sheyi Ojo all made Wolves starting XI while young striker Bright Enobakhare made the bench for the first time in the Championship.
Sammy Ameobi will remain at Cardiff City until the end of the 2015- 16 season.
