Injured Torino Midfielder Joel Obi Doubtful For Afcon Qualifier Against Tanzania
Published: August 20, 2015Torino midfielder Joel Obi is doubtful for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania in just over two weeks time.
According to reporting by torinogranata.it, the Nigeria international is feeling pains in the flexor muscles of the left thigh and will undergo further tests on Thursday to know the extent of damage and the number of days he will have to spend on the sidelines.
Joel Obi joined Torino from Inter Milan in the first week of July but has struggled to remain fit since his arrival, with the attacking midfielder undergoing individual training few weeks after completing the switch.
It was thought that his ailment was a thing of the past after featuring for 22 minutes in Torino’s 4 - 1 win over Pescara in the Italian Cup last weekend, until this latest setback.
The 24 - year - old’s last international appearance for the Super Eagles was against Scotland in a pre - World Cup friendly in May 2014.
