Exclusive : Chesterfield Will Not Appeal Emmanuel Dieseruvwe Three - Game Ban
Published: August 13, 2015Chesterfield striker Emmanuel Dieseruvwe’s moment of joy turned sour on Tuesday in the Capital Cup clash between his team and Carlisle United when he took the walk of shame in the first minute of extra time.
Before the Anglo - Nigerian was sent off, he scored his first goal as a professional to eventually take the game to extra time.
The 20 - year - old has revealed that Chesterfield will not appeal his three - match ban though he admitted that he did not deserve to be sent off in the first place.
“I am happy to sore my first goal but just annoying that I have to miss three games because of the red card and can’t kick on straight away,” Dieseruvwe told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I just jumped for a header with one of the defenders and the referee thought I used my elbow but it wasn’t malicious in anyway.
“They (Chesterfield) have looked at the footage and don’t think it’ll be revoked.”
Emmanuel Dieseruvwe defended the colours of Sheffield Wednesday, Fleetwood Town and Hyde United before joining Chesterfield in January 2015.
