Nigeria Federation Confirms Friendly With Niger Next Month
Published: August 11, 2015The Super Eagles will tackle their Nigerien counterparts in an exhibition game in Port Harcourt on September 8, the NFF has disclosed via a press release.
The Federation are in talks with the Rivers State Government to have the match at the Adokiye Amiesiamaka Stadium.
“The truth is that we still have a few loose ends to tighten, before we can say that the match is sealed, ” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, told thenff.com
“Of course, we have confirmation from the Niger Football Federation that they have accepted to play the Super Eagles.”
The friendly between the two West African nations takes place three days after the Super Eagles square off against Tanzania in an African Cup of Nations qualifier.
Nigeria and Niger settled for a goalless draw when they last met in an international fixture in Niamey on August 15, 2012.
