Jos Elephants Bulldoze Borno Army
Published: June 28, 2015Giwa FC continued to stick to the tail of the Nigeria Premier League
chasing pack with a clinical 3-1 victory over Elkanemi Warriors at the
Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
The Jos Elephants are three points behind leaders Wikki Tourists after 14 round of matches.
A victory would have elevated Warriors on the log, but this rarely looked a possibility after Ocheme Edoh opened the score for Giwa in the 2nd minute.
Defensive midfielder Saleh Mohammed split the Warriors’ defence in the 14th minute to increase Giwa’s lead with a classy goal.
Ibrahim Shuaibu, reeled off a piledriver to make the score an unassailable 3-0 in the 28th minute.
Warriors showed brief moments of their true ability in the last 20 minutes, with Bamai Bukar reducing the defeat with an opportunistic, close-ranger in the 74th minute.
