Published: May 17, 2015
Oyo State Football Association boss Chief James Odeniran has thump-up the gesture of the Ibadan based soccer school, Frenage International Soccer Academy for identifying the problem cash always pose to some talented kids and making its trials registration free and offering of 80 slots for pupils to be recruited into the Under-13, 15, 18 categories of the academy.
Odeniran said the FA is proud to identify with the good gesture of the Academy, especially its idea of given the less privileged a leverage to display their God given talent and pursue a career in the round leather game.
The general manager of the outfit, Akeem Ololade said the idea was owing to cash constrain observed by the academy that always debar talented pupils from getting opportunity to realize their potential.
He said the offer would be available as the academy has thrown its camp open for parents to bring their wards for an open trials to recruit aspiring footballers into U-13, U-15, U-18 and free age categories in preparatory to its 2015 Soccer Fiesta event tagged ‘Frenage Soccer Summit’.
The recruitment which commenced on Monday 18th May at the Lead City University camp of the academy according to the technical head of the soccer school, Tunde Odubola popularly known as Zico will not attract any registration fee, but to encourage the youths and give those with cash constraints opportunity to showcase their talent.
“Though the quality of services we offered at Frenage is not come for cheap because the standard is at par with what anyone can get anywhere in the world but the management have identified that many talented ones are been constrained by this registration and training tuition fees, hence offers this ‘once in a while’ opportunity” said the former 3SC Coach.
The event which has been slated for July ending according to Ololade is a traditional one conceptualized by the academy to celebrate Nigerian grassroots soccer and presents talented youngsters before foreign scouts and FIFA licensed football agents.
The agents are partners to the academy that would be attending the Soccer Summit to pick the exceptional player and offersthem an all expenses paid trip for trials with European clubs.
Ololade also noted that the outfit has concluded plan to secure a slot at Nigerian Nationwide League where the boys with the newly established Frenage FC would get opportunity to have a feel of Nigerian League.
