Tuttomercatoweb.com says The Neroverdi chiefs have identified Jerry Mbakogu as the top candidate to replace the Italy international if he departs the Mapei Stadium.
But the Serie A side must see off competition from other teams in the topflight plus Borussia Dortmund.
Jerry Mbakogu is tied to Carpi until the summer of 2019, and is rated in the region of 2.7 million euros by transfer market experts.
He has scored 13 goals (8 assists) in 25 matches this term for promotion chasing Carpi.
