Akinjide Idowu Praises Flying Eagles Fighting Spirit
Published: March 15, 2015Flying Eagles midfielder Akinjide Idowu has shared his thoughts and impressions on the 2 - 2 draw with Ivory Coast on Saturday.
The 18 - year - old has praised the fighting spirit of the Nigeria Under 20s after they came from behind on two occasions to draw the game with the desperate Ivorian side.
“It was a difficult game, but we were prepared for such a clash,” Idowu told cafonline.com.
“We came from behind twice, but the main thing was not to lose, which we did. Now, we will focus on the semi-final.
“Our first goal was to qualify for the World Cup, which we have already. The second is to win the tournament and finish the job well.”
The likes of Panthinaikos and Bordeaux are believed to be keeping tabs on the ex Golden Eaglet at the ongoing African Youth Championship.
