Utaka, Chrisantus Crash With Sivasspor
Published: December 20, 2014John Utaka and Macauley Chrisantus were both on the losing side when Sivasspor crashed 2-0 to Istanbul Basaksehir on Saturday.
Utaka lasted 84 minutes, while Macauley was benched throughout the week 14 Turkish Spor Toto Super Lig match played at the 4 Eylul Stadi.
The hosts early promise fizzled out, however, with chances few and far between for both sides in the opening half hour mark.
Doka Madureira was given time to pick out the advancing Alexandru Epureanu who netted the first goal of the match in the 35th minute.
In the second half, Sivasspor rarely looked like hauling themselves back into the tie and they were punished in the closing stages.
Rajko Rotman found Jeremy Perbet with a well-worked throughball, and the forward prodded past Ertugrul Taskiran to put the match to bed in the 85th minute.
