Fenerbahce Manager Throws Weight Behind Emmanuel Emenike
Published: October 14, 2014Fenerbahce manager Ä°smail Kartal has thrown his support behind Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike, ahead of the big Istanbul derby against Galatasaray this weekend.
Going into that fixture, the African Cup of Nations top marksman has failed to find the back of the net in his last three games in the Super Lig.
But the coach, who spoke to Emenike before he left for international duty, is hopeful he the Super Eagles star will rediscover his scoring boots when the Yellow Canaries square off with Galatasaray on Saturday.
“You can not play on the field as you want yourself, forget the last match. There is a very important derby in front of us. Show the real Emenike against Galatasaray.
“We are in a position that we can do this and I expect it from everyone, especially you, ” manager Ä°smail Kartal was quoted as saying by Fanatik.
Emmanuel Emenike has scored 27 goals in the topflight, with none of them coming against Galatasaray.
