Unfavorable Pitch Conditions Disrupt Eagles Training
Published: October 11, 2014Due to unfavorable pitch conditions, the Super Eagles failed to train at the Khartoum Stadium on Friday night .
CAF rules are clear on this as the governing body of football in Africa has instructed that visiting teams must have a feel of the match venue at least 24 hours before the match.
In a press release, Ben Alaiya, media officer of the Super Eagles explained further : “A waterlogged pitch of the Khartoum International Stadium ensured that the Super were denied the mandatory feel of the pitch. ”
“NFF officials here in Khartoum are reaching to CAF on this matter.
“The team was however able to do light warm late in the day at the FIFA Technical Centre also in Khartoum.”
The match between Sudan and Nigeria will start at 20:00 hours local time, which is 6 pm back in Nigeria.
