FC Manchester Coach Akuneto Bags More Honours
Nigerian born FC Manchester coach Chukwuma Akuneto continues to grab more accolades in the United Kingdom for his superlative achievements in coaching, especially amongst the youths.

The former Stationary Stores and Rangers midfielder also represented Nigeria at full international level and has lived in the United Kingdom since he retired from professional football.

He has been gradually acquiring his coaching badges, and leading his teams from one success to another over the past few years.

Until most recently the Assistant head coach of FC Manchester, Coach Akuneto also doubles as head Coach of Manchester College, a higher institution where he also lectures on NVQ Diploma in Activity Leadership and the Foundation Learning Tier course in Sports.

However, in recognition of his immense output, he was recently appointed as head of Academy coaching ( in charge of 12 teams) by FC United of Manchester and to top it all up, he has been appointed by The English FA as a coach mentor.

His duties as Coach mentor include to work with Clubs to identify the needs of coaches, to mentor and support coaches working in Charter Standard Clubs, to observe, provide feedback and create action plans for clubs and individuals.

Chukwuma Akuneto will also develop and deliver a programme of support for coaches across the 4 corners, to support coaches development , focusing upon the knowledge, skills and attributes to be an effective coach, to support and develop reflection skills and to develop individual, club based events to support the learning of coaches.

This is a big task, and coach Akuneto is the first African coach to be given such a huge task and this was given in recognition of his great achievements and ability to pass on knowledge to players and coaches alike.
