Mehdi Benatia Lauds David Alaba Ahead CSKA Moscow Clash
Published: September 30, 2014Ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League clash away to CSKA Moscow, defender Mehdi Benatia has showered praise on wing back David Alaba, saying he was impressed by the qualities of the Austrian - Nigerian.
The Morocco international , 27, committed his future to the German champions this summer by penning a five - year deal.
“I would not want to celebrate the individual players, but I must say that Alaba is an incredible footballer.
“He is still very young, but can play in defense and midfield. He works well on the wing and can do everything on the field.
“He is just a great player,” Benatia was quoted as saying by the official website of the Bundesliga.
Austria National Team coach Marcel Kollerhas invited both David Alaba and 1860 Munich striker Rubin Okotie for the European Championship qualifiers against Moldova (October 9) and Montenegro (October 12).
