Derick Chuka Ogbu Optimistic Liaoning Whowin Will Beat The Drop
Published: September 29, 2014Speaking after netting his sixth goal of the season, Derick Chuka Ogbu is aware time is running out for Liaoning Whowin to maintain their Chinese Super League status, but remains confident they will beat the drop.
Following their 3- 1 loss to Beijing Guoan on Sunday, only 3 points separate Liaoning Whowin from the last relegation spot occupied by Henan Jianye.
“I’m really happy with my contribution to the team so far, but I’m still working hard to improve.
“As a striker goals are important for confidence, so I’ll keep working hard to scored more goals to help the team, ” said Derick Ogbu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The former OH Leuven and CFR Cluj star added : “I’m very optimistic we will stay up. The team have done well winning the last two away games, so we need to keep the momentum high as the next game is probably the most important game of the season. ”
The former Enugu Rangers youth - teamer penned an 18 - month contract with Liaoning Whowin in July.
