Rave Of The Moment Obafemi Martins Eyes National Team Recall

The former Inter Milan and Newcastle striker has notched up 13 goals and 9 assists in the MLS this season.
If statistics are your cup of tea, that goal tally is Martins’s best since he departed the shores of this country about 14 years ago in search of the proverbial golden fleece.
Speaking to Oluwashina Okeleji of the BBC, Obafemi Martins said : “It’s the coach’s decision to invite players but if I can get a recall to the national team, I’ll be honoured. ”
“I just need to continue my form here in the United States, give my all to this club and let other things happen naturally.
“I love my country and I always want Nigeria to do well with me in the squad or not.
“If I get another chance, great, and if not, I can only wish my country all the best. ”
Over the last three years, Obafemi Martins has managed only two appearances for the Super Eagles, including the World Cup qualifying fixture against Kenya in March 2013, where he was a shadow of himself.
Having said that, the 29 - year - old has scored an impressive 18 goals in 39 appearances for the African champions.
