Sylvester Igboun Dedicates First - ever Professional Hat - trick To Son
Published: September 13, 2014Four years after making his first team debut for FC Midtjylland, Sylvester Igboun netted his first hat- trick in an official game for the Jutland based side in their hard fought 3 - 2 win over OB Odense on Friday.
The former FC Ebedei talent completed his hat - trick in the 90th minute from the penalty spot, and he has confessed that it was the most decisive moment of the match.
“It’s my first hat - trick in the Danish Superliga, and I am so happy and grateful to God. I dedicate my hat-trick to my son and myself as my birthday gift, which I celebrated on Monday, and to my fans out there.
“I scored the last goal from the penalty spot . Well, it was crazy for me to take that kick because it will determine whether we lost or won the match but I was not nervous because this is not the first time I will find myself in the same position, ” Sylvester Igboun told allnigeriasoccer.com.
The 24 - year - old added : “The highest number of goals I have scored in the Superliga is 10 of last season. And now we have played 7 matches, and I have scored 5. Thanks to God Almighty for that.
“My goal is to do better than last season by helping the team to win games, and of course surpass my tally of last season.”
While this is the first time Igboun has notched up three goals in an official game, he has repeated this same feat in a scrimmage against Werder Bremen on July 8, 2011.
The in - form attacker has hit target 5 times in his last 4 matches in the Danish top division.
