Official : Otelul Galati Shred Contract With Benjamin Onwuachi
Published: September 12, 2014Romanian side Otelul Galati are experiencing dwindling margins, and have decided it was best to weed out unproductive staff on their payroll in order to remain a going concern.
The official website of the 2011 Liga 1 champions has reported that the contract of Nigerian striker Benjamin Onwuachi has been terminated.
The 30 - year - old joined the Steelworkers as a free agent late July, penning a two - year deal that would have kept him at the eastern Romanian outfit until the summer of 2016.
A product of Ify Babes FC at Coker-Orile, Benjamin Onwuachi began his career in Italy with Reggiana in 2003 before a celebrated move to Juventus the following season.
But due to the established internationals in the Juventus squad - Ibrahimovic, Trezeguet, Del Piero and Zalayeta - he failed to break into the first team and had to be loaned to Salernitana.
On his curriculum vitae, he has represented clubs in Belgium, Cyprus and Greece in the past.
