Efe, Onazi Believe It Is Not Mission Impossible Yet; After Winning ONCE In Ten Games
Published: September 11, 2014After picking a solitary point from their first two group fixtures, Nigeria, the defending champions of the African Cup of Nations, have a mountain to climb if they are to defend their title in Morocco, beginning from next January.
But Lazio midfielder Eddy Onazi and Celtic defender Efe Ambrose have not taken that task as mission impossible, and have vowed to bounce back in the remaining matches.
“We did not plan for a draw (in South Africa). We now have to win all remaining games if we are to qualify for the Nations Cup. We are determined to meet our target,” said Eddy Onazi.
Efe Ambrose added : “It was a difficult game against South Africa. They gave us a good fight, but we will still make sure we qualify for the Nations Cup.”
Including friendlies, Nigeria have won only one of their last ten matches, scoring 8 goals and conceding 12 times in those games under review.
