Super Eagles Continue To Make Progress In Fifa Ranking
Published: August 14, 2014Football governing body, Fifa, on Thursday morning published its latest ranking of National Teams.
Compared to their position the previous month, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have climbed one place, and now occupy the 33rd position. In the continental ranking, the African champions retained their third position.
Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana and Egypt are the top five teams in Africa in that order.
Our rivals to book a ticket to the next African Nations Cup - South Africa, Rwanda and Sudan - are placed 14th, 26th and 36th in the zonal ranking.
The top three performers at the World Cup - Germany, Argentina and Holland - have maintained their positions in the rankings, with Colombia and Belgium completing the top five countries in the world.
The next ranking will be published by the official website of Fifa, fifa.com on 18th September, 2014.
