Shola Ameobi Rues Defeat To Liverpool

Newcastle United forward Shola Ameobi was unimpressed that his side surrendered a one - goal lead to lose 2 - 1 to EPL vice - champions Liverpool on Sunday.

In the first half, a Martin Skrtel own goal gave the Magpies an unlikely lead before the Reds scored two quick - fire goals after the interval through Daniel Agger and Daniel Sturridge.

“Up until they scored their first goal, I thought we were well worth the lead. We stuck to the game plan we had and caused them problems.

“We put a lot of effort in and so to come out on the wrong side of the result is quite frustrating, ” Shola Ameobi, who was dismissed in the second half, said to the official website, nufc.co.uk.
