Newcastle United Ponder Move For Joel Obi
Published: May 02, 2014According to calciomercato.com, Newcastle United are mulling over tabling a bid for Nigeria international Joel Obi.
The progress of the 22 - year - old midfielder in the Serie A has been curtailed in the past few seasons due to injuries but that does not suggest he is damaged commodity.
At the start of this season, Inter Milan loaned Joel Obi to Parma, whom he has made 7 appearances for in the Italian topflight.
Another possibility is that the former NEPA youth - teamer could return to his parent club Inter and be added to the squad list as a homegrown talent, that is if the club qualify for the next edition of the Europa League.
Joel Obi has contractual obligations with the Nerazzurri until June 30, 2017, and is rated in the region of five million Euros by transfer market experts.
