Apex Boys Pounce On Youngsters
Published: April 16, 2014Nigeria National League (NNL) campaigners, Supreme Court FC mid Wednesday dismissed non-league side, Youngsters FC of Jabi 4-0 in one of the first Federal Capital Territory Capital (FCT) Federation Cup games decided a Old Parade Ground Abuja.
The FA Cup which kicked off in accordance with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) directive to state FA’s across the country witnessed thrilling encounter in its day one.

When the second resumed, Coach Joackim Osuji-manned Supreme Court FC fielding most of its reserved players pounced on the Youngsters immediately when Joseph Adebayo converted a scintillating cross from the middle of the pitch to a goal in the 50th minute.
The opening goal gifted Adebayo the third goal in the current football year.
Shortly after, Coach Osuji introduced Peter Michael, Jude Chibuike and Issac Mairabo who changed the completion of the game, culminating into inside 18-yard box infringement from a youngsters defender before the center Referee declared a penalty.
Eric Eric stepped forward to convert it in 55th minute.
Several efforts by the NNL team to get more goal proved otherwise despite sweet combination by Adebayo and Mairabo anchored on midfield connection.
Defender Henry Ochuba then capitalized on goal keeping error amidst set piece play to tap in another shot in the 75th minute before Mairabo headed in the last goal before stoppage time.
Coach Osuji who believed that his boys would had more scoreline added “This is just the beginning, though we were kind of still trying to recover after Sunday’s game against Prisons FC. As the competition progresses, we hope to perform better.”
