Turkish Federation Rules In Favour Of Fenerbahce
Published: April 08, 2014The Disciplinary Committee of the Turkish Federation has awarded three goals plus three points to Fenerbahce in its ruling over the abandonment of the match held with Trabzonspor on March 10.
In the encounter at the Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium, the match officials called off the meeting in the 45th minute due to riots in the terraces.
Emmanuel Emenike’s goal in the 23rd minute still stands and that has taken his tally of goals in the Super Lig to 12, 1 less than Galatasaray star Burak Yilmaz in the race for the top scorer prize.
Following the decision which was announced on Tuesday, Fenerbahce now top the standings with 63 points, 10 more more than Istanbul rivals Galatasaray.
The Yellow Canaries need only 9 points from their last 6 matches to be certain of winning the championship for the 19th time.
