Tom Saintfiet Quits As Malawi Coach
Published: September 08, 2013Belgian Tom Saintfiet , 40, has quit his post as handler of the Malawi National Team after his side failed to progress to the final stage of African World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria defeated Malawi 2 - 0 at the UJ Usuene Stadium in Calabar on Saturday, a result that extinguished the Flames chances of qualifying for the play-offs.
''I don’t feel any pressure because (the Football Association of Malawi) had an agreement till midnight on Saturday.
“From Sunday morning, I have no agreement and that was clear so I am a professional coach and my future? That we will see in the coming weeks but I am not worried about that,'' Saintfiet told reporters.
Tom Saintfiet previously handled the National Teams of Namibia, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Yemen and the Qatar Under 17s.
