Flying Eagles midfielder Eletu promoted to AC Milan first-team training ahead of UEL clash v Rennes
Published: February 22, 2024Flying Eagles midfielder Victor Eletu has been promoted yet again to the AC Milan first-team training ahead of the second leg of their UEFA Europa League tie with Rennes at the Roahzon Park later today, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Eletu is one of the most talented players in the Rossoneri youth ranks, featuring prominently for the U19s, and has played 65 games for them in the Primavera 1.
He has been one of the best players for the side this season, particularly in the Primavera where he has been to register 3 goals and four assists in 17 games.
It is no surprise that he has been invited to the first team albeit not the first time as he was on the bench in AC Milan's slim victory over Napoli in the Serie A not long ago and was also among the substitutes in the first leg of the Europa League tie against Rennes.
Pioli has demonstrated his belief in the youth players, handling debuts to a couple of academy stars already this season.
Eletu will be hoping he is the next in line to be handed his first-team action by the Italian tactician particularly against Rennes, having already secured a three-goal lead in the first leg.
The 18-year-old was a key member of the Flying Eagles squad at last year's Fifa U20 World Cup in Argentina, where he played in five matches.
