Flying Eagles CB Ogwuche reaches career-high market value after starring at World Cup
Published: June 27, 2023Flying Eagles central defender Abel Ogwuche has reached the highest market value of his entire career.
Football statistics and transfer website, Transfermarkt, today, Tuesday updated the market value of players in Sweden, and Ogwuche's estimated transfer value has been upgraded.
The Flying Eagles number 5 at the 2023 Fifa U20 World Cup in Argentina is now valued at 500,000 euros (approximately N419 million in Nigerian currency).
Ogwuche was one of the standard performers for Nigeria at the World Cup, helping goalkeeper Kingsley Aniagboso keep clean sheets in matches against Italy and Argentina.
The Tripple 44 FC academy product went the distance in all the five matches played by Ladan Bosso's team during the tournament in Argentina.
Before today's update, he was valued at 150,000 euros on December 28, 2022, meaning his valuation has more than tripled in six months or so.
Since returning from World Cup duty, Ogwuche has yet to figure for Trelleborgs FF amid speculation linking him with a departure from the Swedish second tier side in the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old has a valid contract with Trelleborgs FF until the end of the 2026 season.
