Chuks Akabueze, Wuhan Zall Continue Contract Talks
Published: February 19, 2014
Nigeria international Chuks Akabueze thought he had hit the goldmine when he penned a two - year contract with Chinese club Wuhan Zall exactly 12 months ago.
Excluding performance related incentives, the former Odd Grenland hero will pocket 800,000 euros wages if he is not released from his contract prematurely.
Wuhan Zall lost their Premier League status at the end of the 2013 campaign , and the club are doing everything possible to get some high earners off the wage bill, including Akabueze.
Norwegian - Nigerian agent Atta Aneke had embarked on the 5,000 - mile journey to Wuhan from Oslo about two weeks ago to negotiate on behalf of his client.
“We are still on the issue but we hope to conclude discussions by Monday,” says Atta Aneke to allnigeriasoccer.com.
To let the cat out of the bag, Atta Aneke wants a golden handshake of at least 400,000 euros if the Hubei based club are insisting on terminating the contract of his client.
Bentley successfully found the back of the next 6 times last season for Wuhan Zall in the Super League.
